BISON RETAIL STORE INTERNAL NOTES:
*** Note 10-6-2026. It might be best to separate single piece text weight from single piece cover weight, both flat and folded. This cuts the stock drop down in half on each. Plus, no one thinks of a flat card as a "sheet". A sheet implies text weight. Bonus: by separating text weight folded from cover weight folded, the socring is a non issue – you simply turn it on for cover, and off for text in the Tharstern product type.
*** Note 9-4-2026. The site looks awful. The banner has no printed pieces in it! The category and product images are completely soulless. It looks dumb. No one will use this site! You need photographs of real printed things! In Navigation I changed "Flat Products" and "Folded Products" to simply "Flat" and "Folded", because it's in the drop down just below "Products".

12-19-2025 - folded card with envelope sets are not working. The product types create 2 part estimates. The results in Tharstern are never correct. Part 2 is always NO PRINTING.
What needs to be done before launch:
1. Add category and product images (clear delineation between Color vs Black and White)
2. Add category and product descriptions
3. No customize or "place page" products for now.
4. The calendar product could be a challenge because of the orientation. Solution: for this product only the width and height are swapped and the width is labeled as spine dimension. This actually makes the orientation wrong, but that's how it needs to be for calendars.
Note: we had to give up on Pad and Wire-O for now.
5. Products and categories need to have links to other products and categories where needed, and also links to Bison website "request a quote" page where needed.
6. Black only products. We can have separate sets of products where applicable, for example, black only versions of envelopes (which would allow for printing on the Jet). Only envelopes will have black only versions.
7. Quantities: Minimum and maximum to be determined. Need to include these ranges in Javascript.
8. Include template downloads where appropriate (remittance envelopes, pocket folders, mailing templates)
9. Include other helpful downloads and information (Adobe Presets, bleed guidelines)
10. All products must be tested thoroughly to make sure the estimates are correct in Tharstern
11. Product checklist:
- Linked to Tharstern inventory item, which is linked to a product type
- Pricing engine works correctly
- Estimates generated in Tharstern are correct
- Thorough, concise product descriptions with links included as needed
- Informative product images
- You must have either a file upload requirement or eDoc template
12. Make certain the tax settings for the store are correct. Note: Product: General, Override Tax must be BLANK, not zero.
13. Change the inventory items in Tharstern to allow any customer to use them.
Note: when using this skin the ideal product and category image resolution is 8.333 x 8.333, 96 PPI. This is the zoom (Xlarge) size. Use srgb and png format to support transparency.
